José has been together with Vilma for 30 years now, he used to work as well but he lost part of his sight because of his diabetes.
Their house is made out of mud and bamboo sticks, so it has been deteriorating with the time. The wood has termites that have been eating the post with the time, as well water gets inside the house when it rains. They moved to this house more than 20 years ago.
